Azerbaijani boxer Rashad Abdullayev (91 kg) was awarded the prize For Determination to Win in the Kazakh tournament.
Azerbaijan lost to Uzbekistan 4:7 in the semi-final,with Elvin Mamishzade (48 kg), Sahib Eynullayev (64 kg), Ali Aliyev (81 kg) and Farid Pashayev (above 91 kg) winning their fights.
In the matches for third place, Azerbaijan's boxers faced Ukraine, who had just lost to Kazakhstan. Elvin Mamishzade (48 kg) and Sahib Eynullayev (64 kg) won again, while Samir Mammadov (54 kg) and Rustan Gasimov (60 kg) also beat their opponents. However, the Azerbaijani team again lost 4:7 and took fourth place.
In the final fights, Kazakhstan beat Uzbekistan 9:2.
