Is it possible to say that after adoption of the resolution on the so-called “Armenian genocide” in the Committee of International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, the process of US loss of its influence in Azerbaijan and Turkey has reached its peak?
There are no doubts about it. I remember well that once the political elite of Azerbaijan was happy to welcome everything that is connected with Americans saying the United States “will rescue them from Russian expansion” and “that the welfare, prosperity and development come with the US appearance”. Over a decade has passed and it has become clear that all these talks are completely fictional. The matter lies not only with the adoption of the resolution on the so-called “Armenian genocide” in the Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the US Congress. This is just the last drop that overfilled the bowl of anti-Americanism in Turkey and Azerbaijan. It would also be timely to remind that the US actions that openly support Kurdish separatism pose a threat of split inside Turkey. We understand this injustice because Americans are also supporting Armenian separatism in open, ignoring historical groundlessness of such steps, the moral and ethnic side of the case, possible implications of these direct steps. All these steps could create nothing but disgust to the United States in Azerbaijan and Turkey.
The report of the US Department of State of March 2 says that 30-35% of the students in Azerbaijan are drug addicts. This information caused resentment among the Azerbaijani public and the US embassy in Azerbaijan was obliged to apologize for the inaccurate report of the State Department on the situation with drugs in the country. Isn’t it a proof that the US Department has a negative attitude to Azerbaijan and does not attach special importance to our country if it voices the unchecked figures?
In fact, the reports of the US Department of State have already turned into a means of political pressure by the United States on any countries of the world. The report reveals the biased attitude of the US Department of State to Azerbaijan which has nothing to do with the real state of affairs. The fact of this biased attitude and lie has been confirmed by the US Embassy in Azerbaijan which was obliged to apologize for such an open distortion of the reality. On the other hand, I am not surprised with these actions of the United States, because in all issues this country shows a biased attitude and the unwillingness to find the essence of the problem. The example is the US position on the issue of the so-called “Armenian genocide” and the process of the resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno Karabakh.
In this case do you agree that Azadlyg radio financed by the US side holds biased position in the Karabakh issue?
Frankly speaking, I have not listened to the Liberty Radio for a long time. At the age of internet we do not feel deficit of information. But even in those moments when I listen to the Liberty radio, I see that the work of this mass media differs with the careful selection of topics and respondents. In other words, the work is carried out under certain prescriptions. This is not surprising. In order to get convinced about it, one can recall the history of the radio station called Liberation. By official history, Liberation was founded by the US Committee on Liberation from Bolshevism as an emigrant radio, the mouthpiece of the Coordination Center of anti-Bolshevik struggle for liberation of the homeland from the communist dictatorship. The US Congress has provided financial and administrative assistance to the radio station since the beginning. Financing was conducted from the US budget via the US CIA that controlled the activity of the radio station.
How do you see the future of the United States with its current policy that is not accepted in the world?
Historical experience shows that all empires which claimed for global dominance and attempted to impose their views to everyone collapsed in the end.
