Abdullah Gul
Turkish President Abdullah Gul said on Tuesday at a meeting with Cameroonian President Paul Biya that the international society should act under the light of the fact that all actors could become equal partners of Africa at the most.
Gul has become the first Turkish President visiting Cameroon, where he said that the year 2010 will be a milestone of Turkish-Cameroonian relations.
Drawing attention to inauguration of Turkey’s Embassy in Yaunde on January 15, President Gul said such developments pave the way for expecting more in bilateral relations. “I do have confidence that our friendly relations will be further developed to a higher level,” he said.
The President heralded that Turkey will strive for enhancing relations with the African countries based on a just and equal partnership, paying respect for common interests and values.
President Gul reminded of a historical fact that countries with unilateral motives of self interest have harmed African people to a great extend, adding that international actors could only be equal partners of African countries.
The President said Turkey aims at bringing in diversity and in-depth dimensions concerning bilateral relations through a “win-win” approach in a spate of issues ranging from economic relations, health services, transportation, and effective use of resource to energy issues.
