Azerbaijan sees growth in foodstuffs prices

Azerbaijan recorded a 2.2% growth in prices on foodstuffs in February of this year, according to sources in the State Statistical Committee.

At the same time, the growth in prices on flour made 9.4%, confectionary – 2.1%, alcohol drinks – 0.2%, fruits – 7%, fish – 0.8%, tea and coffee – 0.1%, butter and fat – 1.5%, vegetables – 9.6%.

The drop in prices was recorded on dairy products, cheese, eggs by 0.3%, as well as meat products 0.4%.

The prices on nonfoods in February did not change.

In the reported period the growth was observed in prices on cloths – 0.1%, materials – 0.1%, electric devices – 0.3%, carpets – 0.2%, building materials – 0.1%, jewels – 0.2%, passenger cars – 0.5%.

According to a source, the average growth in prices on foodstuffs made up 1.5, while the prices on nonfoods and services have dropped by 0.1% and 3%.
