The education minister has spoken on the issue of disappearance of students of the Oil Academy of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan's Minister of Education Misir Mardanov said commenting on the reports in some mass media about kidnapping of students that he has already contacted the rector of the Oil Academy of Azerbaijan who told them that five students have not been attending the lessons for some time.

"The rector said that three students have already been sent down, while investigation is carried on the case of the other two. One of the student's brother told the rector that he disappeared and nobody knows where he is. We are studying this issue in detail", the minister said.

Meanwhile, the minister advised the journalists not to make a stir of this issue.

Some mass medias have recently published information about kidnapping of eight students of the Azerbaijan state oil academy and the Baku State University who are allegedly members of one of the religious sects.
