Azerbaijani chess player beats opponent from Israel

The European chess champion is close to completion in Rieka (Croatia).

According to News.Az, in the ninth round Azerbaijani chess player Rauf Mammadov beat Israeli Maxim Rodstein taking 5th place with 7 points. Jan Nepomnjashiy from Russia is leading with 7.5 points. In the tenth round Rauf Mammadov will play with Baadur Jobava from Georgia who also has 7 points.

Among the rest of our chess players we can single out Eltaj Safarli. He has 6 points ranking 47th. Among women, Zeynab Mammadyarova has 5 points and takes the 68th place. Two rounds are left to the end of the championship.
