Anders Fogh Rasmussen
“Georgia remains one of the main sources of disagreement between NATO and Russia,” Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Secretary General of the North-Atlantic Treaty Organization stated during his visit to Poland.
Rasmussen said that eastern European states were frightened after the August 2008 Russian aggression against Georgia and large-scale trainings carried out by Russia in Belarus.
The NATO Chief claimed that Europe was also concerned about the new military doctrine of the Kremlin according to which the transatlantic military alliance is declared as the main threat for the Russian Federation.
Rasmussen said it was high time that Russia and NATO began actual partnership over common challenges.
