Turkey recalls envoy to Sweden over Armenian resolution.
Ambassador Koruturk arrived in Ankara for consultations over Swedish acknowledgement of Armenian allegations.
Turkey’s ambassador to Sweden Zergun Koruturk who was summoned to Ankara for consultations over Swedish parliament adoption of a resolution on Armenian allegations arrived in Turkey on Friday evening.
Replying questions of reporters soon after arriving in Turkey, Ambassador Zergun said she received a written instruction recalling her to Ankara for talks with Foreign Minister Davutoglu and his undersecretary shortly after the vote.
The Ambassador said it is not clear how long she will stay in Ankara but will receive instructions from Davutoglu in due course.
Terming the resolution as groundless, Zergun said that Armenian resolution will yield drastic results in relations between Turkey and Sweden.
Reminding that Stockholm will hold general elections in September, Koruturk noted that Swedish move came on the eve of polls.
During parliamentary sessions on the resolution, lawmakers often referred to the US congressional panel approval of a similar bill, said Zergün.
