13th IAAF World Athletics Indoor Championships has started in Qatar, Doha.
According to News.Az, Azerbaijan is represented by Hayle Ibrahimov and Layes Abdullayeva. Earlier they had to run at a distance of 3000 meters.
Abdullayeva managed to reach the final. She showed the result 8:49.65 and took the 4th place which helped her get to the final which will be held today.
Meanwhile, Ibrahimov was unable to pass the qualifier. The time he showed (8:05.43) did not let him reach the final though becoming his personal record. Hayle took the seventh place leaving opponents from Bahrein and Moldova behind.
