The 19th Amber Blindfold and Rapid Tournament in chess to involve Azerbaijani representative Vugar Hashimov will start in Nyssa today.
According to News.Az, the contests will involve 12 grandmasters. They will play one rapid game (the control of time is 25 minutes+10 seconds) and a blindfold chess game (25 minutes+20 seconds).
Along with Vugar Hashimov (2740), Magnus Carlsen (Norway, 2813), Vladimir Kramnik (Russia, 2790), Levon Aronyan (Armenia, 2782), Alexander Grishuk (Russia, 2756), Peter Svidler (Russia, 2750), Boris Gelfund (Israel, 2750), Vasili Ivanchuk (Ukraine, 2748), Ruslan Ponomaryev (Ukraine, 2737), Sergey Karyakin (Russia, 2725), Lenier Dominges (Cuba, 2713) and Jan Smits (Holland, 2651) will also play in Nyssa.
The overall prize fund of the contest is EURO 216,000. The contest will end on March 25.
