Toll roads may appear in Azerbaijan in the near future, said Azerbaijan's Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov.
He said the toll highways will preserve quality of a number of roads in the country.
"The preservation of roads requires great costs. The state has constructed new roads, but anyway problems appear in their maintenance. Some countries also have toll highways", the minister said.
He also noted that the toll roads are maintained on the high level.
"This idea should be developed in this sense", the website of the New Azerbaijan party quotes on the minister as saying.
