Bernard Fassier
All Russia's initiative on Karabakh conflict settlement are completely coordinated with all the mediators of the OSCE Minsk Group, said French co-chairman of OSCE Minsk Group Bernard Fassier on Friday at the Rose Roth seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Yerevan.
"The mediators exchange information, including the most confidential and secret", said Fassier, responding to a question about Moscow's recent initiatives.
According to the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair, the document coordinated in Sochi is a preamble to the Madrid principles, which were developed and proposed by all mediators. Fassier added that the co-chairmen joint efforts to find a solution to the Karabakh conflict and Russia's initiative are based on the mediators’ proposals
"They help us get out of a difficult situation", said the mediator.
He emphasized that the differences between the mediating countries do not hamper the activities of the co-chairs. In particular, Fassier recalled the differences between France and Russia at the last OSCE summit, in particular regarding the OSCE development and its financing, which had no impact on the activities of the mediators.
"Russia understands that one of the sides can impose its position, and the solution must be sought together", he stressed.
