State Fund of Social Protection
Azerbaijan's State Fund of Social Protection has been declared the winner of the European contest of the International Association of Social Insurance in the nomination "Effective management with the use of ICT" and rewarded with honorable award.
According to News.Az, while granting the honorable order at the European forum in Warsaw president of the association Corazon de la Pas and general secretary Hans-Horst Konkalevski voiced hope that the success of the state fund will be a stimulus for the leaders of European organization on social maintenance.
The new system of social protection of poor citizens created in the state fund is based on the automated collection and processing of data about pensioners and insured. The database currently contains information about 1,308,432 pensioners and 1,640,000 insured that is the third part of the population. The 1 worker-1 computer principle is applied in local branches of the fund. 97.4% of pensions is currently paid via the plastic cards.
