Council of Press

The head of the Council of Press has touched upon the issue of the imprisoned journalists.

"In anticipation of the 135th anniversary of the local press we are planning to appeal to the country's leadership regarding the release of two editors-in-chief of the newspapers - Eynulla Fatullayev and Ganimat Zahid", said head of the Council of Press Aflatun Amashev at the international conference "Media in democratic society: international and national experience" held in Baku.

He noted that they serve their term for quite different articles of the Criminal Code and this is not related to their professional activity.

"We are planning to visit them at Novruz holiday and make everything possible for their release", he noted.
