Ali Ahmadov

Ali Ahmadov, deputy chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party, has called on the opposition to take part in the municipal elections.

Ahmadov said that the ruling party’s electoral experience, its influence and resources mean it can expect to have the most candidates registered in the elections and to win most of the seats in the 23 December poll, the New Azerbaijan Party's press service reported.

Ali Ahmadov expressed regret at what he described the lack of interest in participation in elections among opposition. “It would be better if opposition takes part in this process. By rejecting to participate in elections, the opposition parties lose the arguments of existence of their organizations”, he said.

He noted that any political organization raises its political activity, gains experience of competing and  contributes to the political life of the country by means of elections.

"Opposition should join this process in time", Ali Ahmedov said.
