Baku Bay
APA reports that a meeting with the delegation headed by Korean Minister of Land, Transport and Sea Affairs Jong Juan Chung was held at the Azerbaijani transport ministry. Azerbaijan’s Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov spoke of the projects implemented in the country and participation of the Korean companies in them. The minister noted that the relations between the countries are on a high level and they will be expanded at the cost of new projects.
In turn, the Korean minister noted that his delegation held a number of meetings in Azerbaijan. He added that the delegation involved representatives of famous Korean companies.
The agreement on allocation of a grant in the amount of $1.6 mln on the project of the sea bridge over Baku bay by the Korean KOICA agency to Azerbaijan’s Transport Ministry was signed afterward.
Transport Minister Z.Mammadov told reporters that the grant will go to preparation for the project, feasibility study and presentation of the project.
“The construction of the bridge over the Baku bay will be conducted after it. The project has almost been launched by the signing of the document”, Mammadov said.
He added that the Korean companies are actively participating or displaying interest in the creation of the system of Intellectual Regulation of Transport Operations, reconstruction of Yevlakh-Ganja highway, construction of Guba-Shamakhy highway, purchase of new locomotives and so on.
Mammadov added that the project will take into account study of the Baku bay and other issues.
