The next games of the European chess championship have been held in Rieka (Croatia).

According to News.Az, chess player Rauf Mammadov was again successful. He beat Ukrainian Alexander Areshenko with white figures. Thanks to this victory, Mammadov rose from 18th to the 5th place. He has 5 points. Ukrainian Zakhar Yefimenko and Georgian Baadur Jobava, leaving Rauf behind by 0.5 points are leading.

The best results among Azerbaijani women in chess are shown by Turkan Mammadyarova and Khayala Iskenderova who have 3.5 points each and take the 58th and 69th places respectively.

5 rounds are left to the end of the championship.
