In the reported period the export of goods made $1,428,000,000, while import made $363,828,000. The positive balance of the foreign trade turnover made $1,064,000,000. Azerbaijan exported 497 types of goods and imported 2677 types. The goods export has grown 2.1 times while import has dropped by 29.4 over January 2009.
Last month the residents and nonresidents of Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with 99 countries.
According to the State Statistical Committee, European countries accounted for 58.8% export
import operations, Asian countries 30.9%, America 9.7%, Africa 0.4%, Oceania countries for 0.2%.
Italy leading in trade with Azerbaijan
Italy became the biggest trade partner of Azerbaijan by results of 2010.
Thus, in the reported period Italy accounted for 34.4% of all export and import operations conducted by Azerbaijan. France is second accounting for 7.8% of all export and import operations. The top ten countries also include Indonesia-7.7%, Russia-6.7%, Israel-4.7%, the United States – 4.6%, Canada – 4.4%, Ukrane-4%, Taiwan-4%, Thailand-3.1%, Turkey-2.6%, Germany-1.9%.
By results of 2009 Italy became the biggest trade partner of Azerbaijan preserving this position since 2008.
Thus, in 2009 Italy accounted for 18.8% of all export and import operations held by Azerbaijan. The United States is second with 9.7% of all export and import operations. The top ten also included Russia – 8.7%, France-7.1%, Israel-6.4%, Turkey-4.9%, Ukraine-3.3%, Taiwan-3.3%, Indonesia-3.2%, Germany-3.1%.
