Serzh Sargsyan

The Armenian president's spokesman has described reports that Serzh Sargsyan was unwell while in France as 'disinformation' and a 'blatant lie'.

Samvel Farmanyan said in an interview with Armenian news agency Mediamax that reports of the president's ill health were false.

'This publication is more disinformation which has no bearing on reality. Yesterday the president completed his visit with a wonderful and cordial dinner with representatives of the  Armenian community of France,' Farmanyan said.

'The lies and disinformation spread by certain circles are intensifying with the brilliant visits of the Armenian president, while the official visit to France was important, cordial and in line with Armenian-French friendship,' the spokesman said.

The president feels fine, Farmanyan told Interfax.

No reason was given for the cancellation of the joint press conference by the Armenian and French presidents in Paris.
