The company also noted that definite works will be carried out in other wells too.

Currently the field accounts for five producing wells including four in operation.

In 2009 the Shah Deniz field produced 6.2 bn cubic meters of gas and 1.7 mln tons of condensate. The field production continued stably from four wells and the production is supplied to selection points in Azerbaijan, Georgia and on the Turkish border. The gas produced within the framework of Stage 1 of Shah Deniz is sold to Azerbaijan, the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (Georgia), BOTAS and BTC Co. In 2009 there was a plan to produce 7.5 bn cubic meters of gas and 1.9 mln tons of condensate. The field is expected to produce 8.6 bn cubic meters of gas per annum and about 45,000 barrels of condensate daily in period of maximal production within the framework of Stage 1. In 2008 the Shah Deniz field produced 7.1 bn cubic meters of gas and 1.8 mln tons of condensate. In 2010 the consortium is planning to produce 7.6 bn cubic meters of gas and 2 mln tons of condensate.

The participants of the Shah Denic production sharing agreement are BP (operator – 25.5%), Statoil (25.5%), SOCAR (10%), LUKOIL (10%), NICO (10%), Total (10%) and TPAO (9%).
