The Azerbaijani public had deposits of $2.97bn (AZN 2,385,800,000) in banks and other organizations as of 1 February 2010.
This represents an increase of 30% compared to last year, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan press service reported.
Deposits by individuals and corporate customers combined were AZN 4,462,400,000 ($5.554bn) as of 1 February.
A total of AZN 2,076,700,000 ($2,585bn) of deposits were in non-financial organizations.
Of the deposits in banks, AZN 984.9m ($1.225bn or 41.3%) were in local currency and AZN 1,400,800,000 ($1.742bn or 58.7%) in foreign currency.
As of 1 March 2010, the exchange rate was AZN 0.8034 to the US dollar.
