Inter, Karabakh win first matches of Azerbaijan’s football cup

The quarterfinal matches of the Azerbaijani football cup have been held.

According to News.Az, the most unexpected result was fixed in Neftchi-Inter match. Neftchi lost – 0:3. The two goals were scored by Lithuanian Robertas Poskus while the third goal belongs to Georgian David Odikadze.

The draw in the match between Baki and Standard was surprising. One of the outsiders of the championship was able to fight the current championship of the country. The match ended in a draw-1:1. Fabio Louise Ramim scored the first goal for Baki at the 59th minute. Yet at the end of the match the Sumgayit team scored the response goal. It belongs to former Baki footballer Amiran Mujiri.

Karabakh received Khazar Lenkoran in Guzanli settlement in Aghdam and won 2:1. The added time when the Albanian footballer Admir Teli scored the final goal was decisive. The Aghdam club won 2:1. The score in the match was opened by Nigerian legionnaire of Lenkoranis Emeka Opara who excelled at the 20th minute. Rashad Sadikhov restored the balance  at the 59th minute with a remote hit from the penalty line.

No winner was revealed in another match played between Simurg and Olimpic Shuvelyan (0:0).

The second legs will be held on March 16 and 17.
