The contests in the team World Cup in wrestling involving eight strongest teams including the team from Azerbaijan have been held in Russia.
According to News.Az, on the group stage our team lost to Iran (2:5) but then defeated Uzbekistan (6:1) and the United States (5:2). In the result, the Azerbaijani team took the second place lagging behind Iran.
Under the contest rules the teams that took the second place in the groups were to fight for the bronze awards. The Ukrainian team was the opponent of our team. Azerbaijani wrestlers faced no special problems and won 5:2. Emin Azizov (66 kg), Chamsulvara Chamsulvarayev (74 kg), Novruz Temrezov (84 kg), Khetaq Gazumov (96 kg) and Ali Isayev (120 kg).
In the final the Russian team won over Iran and took the world cup which was taken by the national team of Azerbaijan last year.
