NETTY 2010

The steering committee of the National Internet Premium NETTY has today declared the start of the premium.

The contest is held under support of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan this year.

Under the terms of the contest, the registration starts on March 5 and will last until April 28 of this year. The participant of the contest or member of the virtual jury can be registered user of www.netty.az compliant with the rules of the contest and approved by the steering committee of the premium. The voting of the virtual jury by results of which the premium winners will be declared is due from April 28 until May 7.

The NETTY Academy composed of prominent figures of the local information technologies will start voting based on the choice of virtual jury on May 8. The academy will define the finalists choosing one winner in each nomination by private voting. The academy will also declare winner of off-contest nomination.

The encouraging premium "For the best youth website" will be initiated at the initiative of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Youth and Sport.

The off-contest nomination "Useful website" is also on the list of additional nominations.

Honorable awards for contribution to development of local information technologies and premium in IT-Event of the year category will also be awarded at the final ceremony. Candidates  for the prize of "IT-Event of the year" can be self-nominated via www.netty.az or nominated by the steering committee of the premium or the academy.

Gulmammadov voiced wish to see more resources in Azerbaijani within NETTY 2010 stressing the need for development and creation of national content.
