Television Academy opened in Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Programs (AzTV) CSC on March 1, spokesperson for AzTV Khatira Gasimli said.
She said former president of Space TV channel, department chair at Baku Slavic University Etibar Babayev has been appointed rector of the Academy. The classes will begin in a month.
Khatira Gasimli said in the first stage the Academy would deal with the qualification of AzTV staff.
"In the following stage admission will be announced. It will be complete education. We can qualify the staff of other channels, too. But it will be paid," she said.
Khatira Gasimli said that no additional funds had been allocated from the state budget for the Television Academy. The Academy will be financed by the funds allocated from the state budget for AzTV.
