The volume of Kazakh oil transported via Azerbaijan will make 450,000-500,000 tons monthly, CASPAR president Aydin Bashirov told a news conference.

“Of this volume 200,000-250,000 ton fall on Chevron and the remaining volumes fall on Euro Asia company”, Bashirov said.

He also noted that this oil is transported both by CASPAR tankers and the tankers belonging to Kazakhstan.

The transported oil is them supplied to Georgia by the railroad. Chevron is a participant of the Tengizchevronoil consortium on the development of the Tengiz offshore field. Chevron had also been transporting its oil by the BTC pipeline by January 2010 but as the tariffs for this year have not been coordinated, the company has rejected this route.
