Increased competition should lead to reduced mobile roaming tariffs this year, according to Farid Kazimov, head of the ICT Information Centre.
The presence on the Azerbaijani market of Vodafone in partnership with Azerfon should influence tariffs, Kazimov said.
Only competition will lead to a fall in tariffs for mobile calls made outside Azerbaijan.
The introduction of new technology and use of IP-telephony have not led to a significant drop in roaming prices, Kazimov said.
