Afshar Suleymani
Basing on my own analyses, I can say that attacking plan towards Iran may not be realized. This can exist only as a plan. Someone may prepare an attacking plan, but it is difficult to realize it. There are always plans on different issues in countries where policy is being looked as a science. From this standpoint, neither Israel nor US and UN Security Council member states will decide to attack Iran", former ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan, political scientist Afshar Suleymani said.
He told coalition steps of international forces towards Afghanistan and other countries cannot be concerned Iran. To him, world countries will not do it because of their own interests.
Suleymani noted that those countries which want to attack Iran may harm themselves: "Iran must not be compared with Afghanistan and other countries. Iran is a powerful country for its population, territory, as well as geopolitic position. Now US wages psychological war with Iran. They wanted people to be anxious. Once again I repeat that US cannot attack Iran. Logically, it demands more material and moral outlay. US hasn’t solved Afganistan, Iraq and Pakistan, as well as Guantanamo problems yet. It doesn’t need new serious problem".
According to his words, some people in Tehran think that sanctions don’t harm Iran: "But i don’t think so. Sanctions influenced Iran negatively. But at the same time, these sanctions has positive influence on Iran. Iran has developed doing several reforms under compulsion. And here occurs another new question-couldn’t we achieve development without sanctions?"
Suleymani said US and Europe countries didn’t receive any good from sanctions used againist Iran: "As I say, Iran suffered loss in some spheres, but this loss is mutual. Some US and European countries also suffered loss in that situation".
Former ambassador noted that only negotiations might solve the problems.
